Training is back!!

Training for the 2016 campaign is up and running this Friday the 26th at 7:30pm with our new manager and ex Galbally legend Johnny Cummins. Training will commence after a team meeting at 7pm in the clubhouse just before training starts to lay down the plan for the new year and goals to achieve. The main and only goal we as a team want is to win a county title at the end of the year and rise to the top of senior football once again.

Johnny has set up a Whats App group for all of us to make sure we all get details in time about training and that we can confirm our availability instantly. this is a very effective way of communicating with him and the rest of the team.

I will blog updates on how training will progress for the next few weeks and also keep up to date with the Strictly Come Dancing Fundraiser which is just around the corner.

Galbally GAA 2016

A New Year, A New Beginning.

By Gearoid McCarthy, k00207731

Its the first of February, the Christmas is over, the nights out are slowly starting to fade away and the harsh reality of pre-season is upon us. Its time to run off the turkey and ham and get down to work for an important year for Galbally GAA to hopefully prospect a new future back up the ranks in Senior Football, where the club has a rich tradition to be.

2015 ended up as a very successful year for the club having earlier in the year winning the Feile Peil u14 Football for the second time in a row, u13, u14, u15 County Championships, Minor South Championship winners and County Finalists and the big one for the club just before Christmas which was a sweet one to win, u21 South Championship winners and also going on to winning the County championship against Mungret on the 20th of December. this was a real boost for the club and gave the whole club and the intermediate team a big boost in prospects for the year. The winning mentality is back in Galbally! It was a specially proud ending of the year for myself as I captained the 21's winning team.

Personally i am looking forward to the year ahead. I will be blogging our pre-season for the next few weeks and update our progression. And hopefully at the end of the year end up with more silverware.
